One of many
Ninja has been involved in esports since 2009, when he emerged as a competent Halo 3 professional.
Beginning streaming in 2011, Ninja found some success. However, his popularity boomed in the last year largely thanks to the growth of Fortnite.
Ninja is now the most followed streamer on video game streaming platform Twitch according to social media tracking tool Socialblade. He currently has 8.8 million followers. Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek, the second most followed streamer, has just 3.6m followers.
In May, it was estimated that Ninja is making at least $350,000 a month from Twitch subscriptions.
Ninja’s success has attracted plenty of interest from sponsors in recent months.
The popular streamer signed a deal with Red Bull earlier this month. As part of the deal, he will serve as the host of an all-night Fortnite tournament in July.
Ninja has also been sponsored by desktop PC component manufacturer NZXT since April.
