Supercell and ESL have announced the Clash of Clans World Championship 2020.
The world’s best Clash of Clans players will be pitted against each other for the chance to win the lion’s share of a $1m prize pool.
The format of this year’s Clash of Clans World Championship will be largely the same as last year. Clans will have to qualify for a number of monthly offline qualifiers via monthly clan war leagues and ESL Play Cups.
The top four clans from each monthly league and cup will them go through to a final qualifier, which will take place at the ESL Arena Katowice. There will be six of these in total, with each victorious clan earning a place in the World Finals.
Supercell has yet to give too much away about the Clash or Clans World Finals 2020. However, it is expected that an additional two teams will be added to the final lineup via wildcard voting.
Last year’s Clash of Clans World Championship was won by Nova毛豆. The clan defeated MCES in an intense best-of-three match to be crowned victorious.
In total, more than 40 million players competed in the inaugural World Championship at some stage.
