Call of Duty
Whether it’s in the past, present, future or deep in outer space, a Call of Duty title is always a hit. The hit shooter has been attracting generations of players since 2003 and, as one of video gaming’s heavyweight franchises, will continue to do so for years to come. Teams of battle-hardened soldiers compete in all-out wars against their opposition in a fight to score kills, capture zones and complete objectives.
The early years of Call of Duty esports has had its ups and downs. However, with such a large army of players, CoD competitions do well to attract big numbers of both regular esports viewers and those less active in the scene. The CoD World League has helped to bring some organisation to competitive CoD and increasing prize pools can only be a good sign for the future.
