The Call of Duty Champs 2018 will soon get underway, pitting the best teams in competitive CoD against each other to fight for the bragging rights for the next 12 months.
The likes of FaZe Clan, OpTiC Gaming, Echo Fox and Splyce will fight to be crowned world champions and take home a $600,000 slice of a $1.5m prize pool.
Providing some of the best entertainment that Call of Duty esports offers, the 2018 Call of Duty Championship isn’t one to be missed. Here’s how you can catch the action:
When is the Call of Duty Champs 2018?
The tournament will get underway on Wednesday, 15 August at 5pm BST. It will kick off with four matches across Groups A and B.
Four additional games will start every 90 minutes until all matches are complete. Day one is expected to end at around 12:30am the previous morning.
Thursday, 16 August will follow a similar schedule. Games will begin at 5pm BST and end at 12:30am.
The playoffs will take place on Friday, 17 August, starting at 5pm once again. This will also be the case on Saturday, 18 August ahead of Sunday’s Call of Duty Championship Grand Finals. Sunday’s action will get underway at 9:30pm BST.
Where can I watch the CoD Championships?
The Call of Duty Championships 2018 will be held at various venues which are accessible to the public. However, the best action will be found during the playoffs. These games will play out in front of a live crowd at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Tickets are still available via the MLG Store.
However, travelling to Ohio mid-week probably isn’t practical for most CoD fans.
If that’s the case for you, the Call of Duty Champs 2018 action can be watched live through the official Call of Duty channel on Twitch.
Alternatively, Activision Blizzard will also be streaming the tournament via the Amazon-owned MLG platform. Users can tune in via the website or the app.
Four streams will be running simultaneously to ensure that Call of Duty esports fans can watch all of the games taking place. These are called Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Delta, with the best action found on the main Alpha stream.
If you can’t tear yourself away from the game, Call of Duty Champs 2018 will also be broadcast through the Call of Duty: World War II in-game theatre.
